Just something new.

Just a few disclaimers prior to this post.

Disclaimer 1: I am NOT a photographer.

Disclaimer 2: I have NO desire to become a “real” photographer.

Disclaimer 3: I have a nice camera, but very little knowledge of how to really use it.

Disclaimer 4: I use free photo editing software.

Disclaimer 5: Putting myself “out there” is like my least favorite thing E.V.E.R.

Disclaimer 6: I know without a doubt that there are a TON of people out there (many of YOU!) who could put my “work/crafting/designing” to shame.  And that’s a hard pill for me to swallow.  I’m a perfectionist and if I do something, I want it to be the BEST.  However, I realize that there will always be people who are better, more creative, have superior software, and/or have an education or experience in design.

** deep breath **

One of my best friends asked me to take some pictures of her and her family.  I reviewed all of the above disclaimers with her and she still maintained that she would like to utilize my very amateur and non-professional skills.  And so I obliged.

While the picture taking part was just ok, I sure did enjoy “designing” a few Christmas cards for her…which got me to thinking.

Could I perhaps (maybe??) do this for other people?  At a reasonable price??

Long story short?  I have always enjoyed creating cards, party invitations, thank-yous, etc. and there are people out there who do not.  OR they just don’t have time.  OR maybe they just don’t want to spend the money on a real professional.

Enter: the awkward part where I tell you that I’d love to design something for YOU with my very amateur skills, but with a heart full of passion and excitement for creating pretty things AND for the idea that this might be serving you in some way.

So, my friends!  Do you still need your family’s custom Christmas card designed?  A personalized invitation to your kid’s upcoming birthday party?  I’d be honored to help you out!  Email me for details.  I will customize any card or invitation for you, using your pictures (as long as you have copyright privileges) , color/font/wording choices, and any other preferences.  You will be emailed 3 proofs for review, then the final design as a jpeg file that can be printed at your convince in a 4x6 or 5x7 size.  What’s the cost to you?  Just $15!

More questions?  Email me!  I’d LOVE to hear from you.

Here are just a few examples of cards/invitations/blog headers from this year and in the past.

Awesome work Missy! I already ordered mine otherwise I would have given the job to you! I will keep u in mind for our future party events! I know what you mean about scary! I would love to help people out with inexpensive design advice (that is why i started my blog) but am struggling where to begin. Your post made me feel better and gives me hope to start something myself someday so that i can still be home with my kiddos! Anyway... good luck with you new endeavor!

Wish I would have known before I ordered cards this week! I love that YOU love creating because you really do have such a gift and there's certainly something to be said for doing what you love. Kael and Kylee thought it was cool that they were allowed to join in on the photo shoot at the playground a couple weeks ago. :) We will definitely keep you in mind for future events!

LOVE them!! What a great idea and a great way to use the gifts God has given you! I bought skinny cards this year and think I will have to do something wallet size to fit inside....not sure if that gives you much room to be creative? I'll email you!!
