We had a great weekend and did lots of fun things - none of which included eating out! I only make reference to this because the lack of eating out is a rarity for us. We usually go out to dinner at least once or twice a weekend. But, somehow – almost completely unintentionally – we managed to avoid all restaurants/diners/sports bars/pizza places. And while it was good for the pocketbooks and waistlines, I’ll tell you what…I’m not feeling very refreshed in the “meal making” department today.
Eating in made me realize that I use those weekend restaurant meals as a break from my ho-hum day-to-day dinner prep. And you know? I’ve decided that while I enjoy saving money, I also enjoy saving my sanity. 21 meals for 6 people (snacks not included) in one week is a LOT of work. So, if spending a little money on the weekend means a boost in the weekly meal planning motivation department, then that’s a trade-off I’m willing to make!
