MPM and the Day for Mother’s

You guys!  My weekend was sooooo wonderful.  And not even just because it was Mother’s Day.  I mean, that helped and all because obviously.

I know you’re just dying to hear about it, right?!?

Ok.

Friday night was Fun Night at Mr. Starr’s school, which by itself would have been fun, but the best part was that he had volunteered to be a victim in the pie throwing game.  I think it’s pretty safe to say that most wives and kids don’t get the opportunity to watch their husband/dad take have pies thrown at them.  This is a privilege that I will cherish forever. The kids thought it was beyond hilarious to see Dad get pie in the eyes and they were rolling with every hit.

After the Fun Night festivities, we headed to J’s cousin’s high school graduation party, where we dined on nachos, wings, cupcakes, and candy.  The night just couldn’t have gotten any better for our kids.  We spent the evening eating and hanging out with family – a great start to the weekend!

Saturday morning I was up early to hit the road with some of my very favorite ladies.  We headed to an outlet mall about an hour away and we shopped our little hearts out.  And that wasn’t even the best part.  The kid-free conversations and time together were the highlights, fo sho.

We hurried home early afternoon just in time for me to jump in with my mom and girls to get to Addi’s t-ball game.  J was with Eli at his game and they met up with us after that.  Saturday evening J mowed, the kids played outside and had a picnic, then I grabbed some groceries.

Yesterday we went to church, then to my parents’ house for lunch and to celebrate Mother’s Day.  I scored a nap in the afternoon, and J’s family came over for dinner.  By the time my head hit the pillow last night my heart was as full as it’s ever been.  A weekend full of family and friends was EXACTLY what this girl needed.

And today?  We’re back to our daily routine. But not for long!  Eli is done with school on Friday and Addi next Tuesday.  The lazy days of summer are right around the corner and we can’t wait!
