Tell me I’m not the only one that has a hard time getting back into the swing of things after a long, wonderful weekend?
We spent pretty much the entire afternoon and evening on Friday playing outside before we headed in, gave the kids baths, and ordered a pizza. Now, there have been seasons in our not so distant past where ordering a pizza was no big deal and a fairly frequent occurrence, but since both J and I have been trying to eat healthier, the non-homemade pizza consumption has dropped dramatically. And I can just tell you? That greasy, cheesy pie was heavenly! Indulgences are just so much better when they’re infrequent and just that…indulgent.
Saturday I got in a quick run before we all headed out for errands and lunch with J’s mom. I ran to Target during nap time, then we spent the rest of the evening outside. Again. For dinner we grilled chicken breast and veggies, then Camden peed on the front porch just as I was feeling kinda classy with a glass of wine in my hand. That’s what you call a reality check, friends. Just when you start relaxing, feeling good about your day….BAM urine on the front step!
After church on Sunday we went to my parent’s for lunch and granted them custody of our “urinator” for a few hours while the big kids played ball with J, I soaked up some sun, and Kaiah napped. And the rest of our afternoon was spent….betcha can’t guess…outside! For dinner we decided on ice cream. Yep, just ice cream. The kids thought it was such a treat and J and I enjoyed a break from meal preparation/serving. Every great weekend should end with ice cream, right?
I have no idea what Addi is doing in this pic. 6-year-olds are so weird sometimes!
This week we’re back to reality and I’m headed to the grocery store soon so we can eat. Wanna know what’s on the menu?
Monday: We had Taco Deluxe Wraps, which I highly recommend!
Tuesday: It’s whole wheat sour cream pancakes (carried over!).
Wednesday: Crockpot buffalo chicken
Thursday: Penne with Turkey and Broccoli
And now that I have you thinking about food, here is a whole lotta grossness that you just have to see to believe!
