A little taste of fall...

I stumbled across this recipe back in July while reading Self Magazine's April issue and it has been an {almost} daily staple for me ever since.  So, grab the biggest, juiciest, yummiest apple you can find (although, that shouldn't be hard because apples this time of year are to.die.for.) and make yourself an Apple Pie Smoothie that is good for you.  Yep, you read that right.  Not one thing to feel guilty about in this sinful tasting treat!

Apple Pie Smoothie (adapted from Self Magazine, April 2011)

Here is your "cast of characters" (as our beloved PW would say)...

First, grab your apple and get to slicing.  You're going to be putting it in a blender (or a Magic Bullet, in my case), so don't get too ambitious.

Next, load up your blender/Magic Bullet Cup with:
1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt
sliced apple
1/2 cup skim milk
1 tbsp granola
1 tbsp peanut butter
2 tsp maple syrup
1/4 tsp cinnamon

Blend until smooth!

And enjoy!!
