Obviously, we've been blessed with 3 little girls. Sweet, pretty girls with hair. Lots of hair. And along with these 3 hairy blessings came, what we call, The Curse Of The Hair Accessories. Don't get me wrong, I love me some cute ponies, piggies, flowers, headbands, clips, and bows, but oh.my. Those things can get out of control fast. It's like a mommy bow and a daddy alligator clip got together and pro-created at warp speed, with the shortest incubation period ever. BAM! They were everywhere - in 3 different bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, in the minivan, under couch cushions, and in the baby's belly (no joke. remember?). It was clear we needed ONE, centrally located place for all the baby accessories.
We've had a clear, hanging shoe organizer thingy behind the door in the kids' bathroom for a while now. And that's where many of the headbands were already living. But when it came to all the clips and such, I was stuck -- that is until my super smart 6-year-old had a stroke of genius one night and clipped her favorite flower clip to one of the "shoe" holders after I told her to put it up high enough so it was out of the baby's reach.
Duh duh duh. An idea was born!
What if we moved ALL accessories to the bathroom, clippies included?!? I'm tellin' ya, folks, my common sense just kind of comes and goes as it pleases these days.
So, here's our extremely unexciting, but oh-so-practical solution using just the shoe organizer and a Dollar Store white plastic hook thingy:
