when boredom strikes...

About 2.2 seconds after I sent my children out to play this morning, they were standing beneath my open office window pleading to come in.  Because they were "soooooo bored", you know. I listed approximately 57 things they could do to entertain themselves. Bubbles, bikes, races, sidewalk chalk, swing set.  The list went on and on.

I can understand why they were bored and all.  I mean, we only have 6 bikes, 2 pairs of roller skates, 1 big wheel, a scooter, 3 jump ropes, 50 different colors of sidewalk chalk, one bucket of balls, 4 bats, a tee, and a beanbag toss game taking up room in our 3rd garage stall.  Let's be honest -- options for entertainment are slim pickins around here. *wink, wink*

Then I remembered a recipe I had saved in my "favorites" folder (before my beloved Pinterest was born) for sidewalk chalk paint. Lucky for me I had all the ingredients (that never happens). I'd say that for the 5 minutes spent making it, the 45 minutes of enjoyment was well worth it.

We are big fans of homemade sidewalk paint! I am pretty sure I make some at least once a week. Check your grocery store for the neon food coloring and you will get even more vibrant colors!
