10 Things

1.  Summer is getting in the way of my blogging responsibilities. Trips to the pool, popsicles on the front porch, and baseball games do not make for much bloggy time.

2.  Ty, Camden, and I went on a little jaunt Tuesday afternoon in the crazy heat and humidity.  Ty had to stop and rest...not once, but twice.  The poor, fat dog is getting old.  He did, however, demonstrate that the puppy in him lives on during our "run" this morning (let's face it, I'm doing more of a speed walk/shuffle these days, than a run!) when he about yanked my arm out of socket trying to chase a rabbit.

3.  I've had a cucumber, tomato, avacado, and red onion salad for lunch every day this week.  It's a guarantee that a couple days from now the thought of one will make me physically ill.  But that's just how I roll.

4.  Maybe it's just a boy thing, but my little man RUNS everywhere he goes.  It could be a visit to the bathroom or a 10-foot trip to retrieve the ball he has just thrown.  Regardless of circumstance, he is run-ning (say it like Forrest! Come on, you know you want to.).  I doubt the hustle will last, though.  I mean, I don't anticipate that he'll run from room to room as a teenager (especially at my beckon call!), which is why it's just one of those things I never want to forget.  I should probably write it in his baby book or something.  But. Um.  Well.  He doesn't exactly have one.  This will have to do.

5. We have like 4,000 and some Pampers Gifts to Grow points.  According to their website we can turn them in for a $25 Starbucks gift card, some cheapo toy, or like 50 free prints from Snapfish.  So approximately a $500+ investment in diapers = less than $30 in rewards.  Yep. Seems about right.  And, no, we will not be making the switch to {these}.

6.  I'm a soup girl, even despite the summer heat.  Which is why when I saw {this} I just had to try it. And oh.my.  It was delish!  I rate it 5 stars and recommend that you give it a try, too.

7.  Today I'm wearing a sundress/swimsuit cover-up and, regrettably, have NOT been sitting "like a lady" much at all.  It's things like this that make me thankful to still have young children who don't really care if they see mommy's underwear.

8.  Speaking of young children, I LOVE {this post} by MckMama at My Charming Kids.  It speaks to me...in a "I can relate on about every level" kind of way.

9.  While still on the subject of many small children...I was overcome with panic/guilt last Friday morning as our tornado sirens were sounding.  It was in that moment I realized that if a tornado were to hit and our home was being blown away, I would never be able to hold all of my children at once to keep them all safe. I'm fully aware that God is in the business of miracles and I would need to rely on him in such circumstances.  But still.  3 (almost 4) kids and one mommy's lap doesn't seem like great odds.

10.  And one final thought on having several kids close in age...this one is from my mom.  Yesterday she says to me, "You know, I was thinking about how you'll have 4 teenagers all at one time and I came to a realization.  Someone will always like you.  Not all of them can be mad at you all the time."  Good point, Mom.  Thanks. I think.

I love #10, because I have 4 girls ages 5 & under so the teenage years will be interesting! But I'm gonna bank on #10 ;)

i liked reading the list of mother things. I can identify with the boob one, because only after one child my boobs are not the once perky selves they once were.
:)
cute post...

Ha! Church sweatpants! Um, yes, I've been wondering when I'm going to see a baby wearing those diapers (I haven't yet). Yummmm, that sandwich sounds so good and I'm not even preggo! :)

#5 carcked me up because I also do the Pampers Rewards. We have a little over 1,000 points and nothing has interested me yet.

I also knew which diapers you linked to before I clicked on them. Nicholas will not be sporting those either!!!
