crafting maddness

My kids L-O-V-E doing all things creative.  Coloring, painting, stamping, writing, drawing, stickering (yeah, that's a word), cutting, and gluing.  All good things, right?  Riiight.  Except for one thing.  All the above require lots and lots of supplies.  Supplies, that until a couple of weeks ago, had overtaken us!  No matter how hard I tried to keep them organized, it was impossible.  One project was all it took to clutter my attempts at organization.

So I put on my thinking cap and came up with a solution that has made our creative lives a heck of a lot easier.  In this kitchen we've been blessed with an abundance of storage/cabinets.  We have a closet type pantry that was only 1/2 full of food and about 1/2 full of crap.  My solution was to relocate the crap and use the rest of the pantry space in a way that works for us.  Here's what I came up with.

{the after}

We made the switch about 2 weeks ago and it still looks like this.  That's nothing short of a miracle.  The kids have been wonderful about putting things away where they go, which is a hard lesson to learn, no doubt.  So, we're pleased as punch with how it turned out.

That's it for now.

I realize that I still haven't done my update posts on the kiddos yet.  BUT, we've had a litte bit of *ahem* excitement going on around here, so those have taken a bit of a backseat.  Still to come, though.  Promise.

You are on top of your game my friend... this is impressive! The kids must LOVE their little station, hence keeping it clean! When its something fun and creative, they just seem to respect it more, no?
