No weekend wrap-up and DIY Day!

Man, oh, man!  This place has been like an infirmary for the last several days!  Between giving meds, wiping noses, taking temps, cleaning up puke, spending an afternoon in Urgent Care, doing laundry, lysoling the house, and cuddling my lil sickies, I've hardly had time to breath, let alone blog!  Really, there's not much worth writing about in a weekend wrap-up.  The weekend doesn't even deserve it's own post.  It was that bad. In fact, I prefer to forget about it and move on!

Soooo...moving on is just what we're doing!  Slowly, but surely everyone is feeling better and life is getting back to normal.  I even had time to finish up one of my DIY projects this morning.  And since it's Tuesday, that means it's DIY Day over at A Soft Place to Land.  Today, I'm linking up my little man's room and my refinished, boy-ified barn stars.

I snatched up these babies on clearance for $2 a piece.  I was worried with the extra "detailing" they might be a little too girly, but thought I'd give them a try anyway. I'm glad I did.

No tutorial needed.  I just spray painted them navy, bought myself some letters from Michales, then attached jute twin using my glue gun.

And before I get a million comments asking about the "C" above the other bed, let me explain myself.  I had a totally mommy moment the other day and for some reason I came home from Michaels with a "C" instead of an "S" (you know, for our last name!).  And because I'm so impatient I decided to proceed with the project and fix it later.  So, NOOOOO I am not subtly trying to tell you anything. I promise, pinky swear, cross my heart.  It was just a simple, innocent, fairly embarassing "mommy moment." End of story.

His room is still far from done.  I mean, we still need to paint the walls, get a new mattress, and hang a few more things on the walls, but for now, he's happy and so am I.

I love what you did with the bedroom! I have 2 boys who will soon be sharing a room, so this is right up my "interest-alley."

Cute room! Getting the stars to match the curtains is impressive! That's some spray paint talent right there! :)
