Tour de CHRISTmas...

Have you ever participated in a blog party? Yeah, me either. Until today. And it's going to be one for the record books. I'm linking up to The Nester's Christmas Tour of Homes. Generally, I'm not usually one to "put myself out there" on the big ol' internet like this, but Nester's par-tay was just calling my name. And, let's be honest, there are over 600 beautifully decorated homes already linked at Nester's party. What are the chances of anyone (besides you 24 "followers") seeing our humbly decorated abode?!? I'm thinking somewhere around 1/600. I'm comfortable with those odds.

Christmas Tour of Homes with The Nester

I L.O.V.E the Christmas season. I love celebrating Christ's birth and our salvation. I love spending time with family. I love watching Christmas movies. I love eating. I love shopping. I love giving gifts. I love receiving gifts. I love eating. Did I say that already? And I LOVE decorating for Christmas. My decor really isn't anything fancy or over-the-top, but it's special to me.

Of note: I do NOT love taking down Christmas decorations. Depressing with a capital D!

Nothing gives me that warm fuzzy feeling like a dark home lit only by the glow of Christmas lights. I'd leave them on 24/7 if my hubby would let me. But he likes to "conserve energy," "save money," blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You'd better believe, though, that the second he walks out that pretty wreathed door for work in the morning, I crank up "Oh Holy Night" and get Christmas light happy.

So, here are waaayyy too many pictures (most taken both in the dark and also in daylight) of our Christmased-out casa. As you can tell by the dark/blurry photos, I'm still lusting over a fancy-schmancy camera, but for now my point and click one will have to do.

*The trees flanking our door have since taken up temporary residence in our garage since they kept blowing over during the "storm of the century."

My Willow Tree nativity is my absolute favorite decoration.

My office.

The view from my office chair, looking into the living room.

My latest DIY project (more pics to come later) and Figaro, our Elf on the Shelf. Remember him from {last year}?

Close-up of Figaro.

Wanna play? I (and the rest of the blogland) would love to see your decorations! Just head on over to The Nesting Place and link up. And, as a favor to me so I won't have to look through all bazillion links, would you leave me a comment so I will know if you're participating in the Christmas Tour 2009? Thanks, friends!

I'm off to finish addressing Christmas cards now. No worries, I'll be sharing them here very soon! Happy Monday!

Love Figaro! Did you name him or did he come with that name! I think we might have to get an Elf on a Shelf for next year. Love the decorations...looks like a picture out of pottery barn!

Hi, Missy! Welcome to your first blog party, they're so fun!! You can definitely hang with the best of them. Your house looks beautiful, so festive! I love the white house number on your door. I had fun comparing how you set up your Willow Tree nativity vs. how I set mine up. No fair...you have 2 star things! Glad I found your blog:) Have a great holiday.

I LOVE my willow tree nativity scene as well. Unfortunately I did not get it out this year for fear that it would be get broken by my Destructo child...next year it will get a new home--someplace out of reach!
