Ahhh...another relaxing weekend in the books. It was highlighted by Christmas baking, Christmas decorating, and Christmas movie watching. Can you tell I'm PUMPED for Christmas?!? However, I would hate to look past the wonderful Thanksgiving holiday because, let's face it, I have so much to be thankful for.
My list of blessings seems never ending, but I wanted to take a little time this week to jot a couple of these down and to verbalize my thankfulness.
So, here goes...
Today I am especially thankful for an awesome God who has given me the gift of grace (among many, many others!). Day in and day out I find myself falling short of the glory of God, but He is patient, encouraging, and forgiving.
I'll be honest. The love of God used to be a mystery to me. I felt it. I needed it. I wanted it. But I didn't understand it. That was until I became a mom. Just hours after Addison was born, I remember holding her, staring at her, and thinking to myself, "I so totally get it now. I can't believe He loves me like this." It's an amazing concept, one I still have a hard time totally wrapping my brain around. But one thing is for sure, I am so beyond thankful for that love, patience, kindness, forgiveness, and grace. I pray daily that I will model just a fraction of His goodness to my own children.
Thank you, Lord, for your blessings.
It seems as though I just committed myself to several days of posting/thanking, so stay tuned for tomorrow. I guess.
