Greetings from Ill-ville, where the heads are hot, the throats are sore, and the coughs are contagious!
This swine flu ain't no joke, folks! Today marks day 8 of icky-sicky kiddies and I am soooooo over it!
I'm so over seeing my babies' sad, sick eyes.
I'm so over giving medicine like it is candy.
I'm so over Lysol-ing my entire house multiple times a day.
I'm so over being quarantined behind these walls.
And I am soooooooo over the sleep-less nights.
BUT, I am soooo grateful Addi is almost back to 100%.
I am so grateful that neither J or I have *yet* to get sick.
I am so grateful for helpful, caring families that are willing to expose themselves just to help us out!
I am so grateful I have an awesome husband who lets me "escape" this germ infested house for a few sanity-saving hours here and there in the evenings.
And I am soooooo grateful that the Lord doesn't give us more than we can handle at one time. Otherwise I'd be on the funny farm.
In other non-related, much lighter, extremely random news:
I'm in the midst of some serious first birthday party planning. In just a few short weeks Cami Shea will be 1 and we'll be celebrating in style. Ok, that's not exactly true. While the excitement will be high, the party will be modest -- just family, a few decorations here and there, a yummy cake, and of course some presents. I can't wait to show you the invites -- just as soon as I get them done!
Lately I've been thinking about this last year and all the changes our family has endured. Later this week marks the one-year anniversary of my dad's heart attack/open heart bypass surgery, recovery, and his renewed outlook on life. He's one happy and healthy (& tough) guy! Just 2 1/2 weeks following Dad's shenanigans, Camden entered our lives three weeks and one day early. All of this went down in the middle of much house selling/house buying drama. Hands down, it's been one of the best, most challenging, yet most rewarding years of my life. I'm a blessed girl, no doubt.
Anyhoo...back to Cam...sorry I got a little off topic! She's such a sweet girl. Right now she has the cutest little raspy voice. Among other things, she's learned to "pretend" to pout by pushing out her bottom lip and lay her head on the floor. It's all I can do to keep from laughing! So cute. What else? Oh, I do believe she is starting to wean herself. While I know it is time and I'm totally ok with it, I'm also just a wee bit sad. This will be the first time I will be "free" from any nursing responsibilities in two years and two months. Wowzers, that's a long time!
Let's see...what else is going on in our lives??? Umm...J's beginning to contemplate graduate school, I'm getting my hair done tonight (woo-stinkin'-hoo!) and am in a wedding next weekend, the kiddos have oh-so-cute Halloween costumes, Eli is sleeping (I use the term "sleeping" loosely this week!) in his big boy bed on a full time basis now, Addison can do a hand stand against a wall and can "hang like a bat" from the bars at gymnastics, Camden is getting close to walking, we have a leaky master bathroom window and can't get the builder here to fix it to save our lives, within the last week I've had two friends share with me that they are expecting (you know who you are!), I am in the process of renewing my nursing license, and we are still extremely hopeful we will be able to (finally!) get some family pics taken by Allison after having to reschedule a couple times! Whew. I think that was the longest, run-on sentence ever. Eh. Oh-well. My blog, my rules.
Peace out, peeps.
