Since my wife is taking time off from blogging (apparently?). I thought I would jump in and fill you in on my summer. I was recently emailing a friend and started to think about how I was spending my summer and what I was doing. It dawned on me that I've witnessed perhaps to coolest thing ever this summer.
Last weekend (the 4th) at the Voigt Aquatic Center, Addi started completely swimming on her own, and even started to dive to the bottom of the pool to grab things. I know this seems like a very ordinary thing for most people to do, but there is something different about it when it's your own child, I think? I could seriously watch her do this for hours. We spent almost no time working on diving down, and presto, there she was at the bottom of the pool. Grabbing sticks, toypeedos, goggles, whatever.
Now, many of you may not know this, but I'm not much of an emotional guy. No really, I'm not. I'm not sure if it was the pool water or what, but my eyes got awfully moist while I was watching this little baby girl take deep breaths and dive under. It was truly amazing.
I'm sure that every parent loves those moments when they think their kid is the greatest or best or most special in the world, but MAN DO I LOVE THOSE MOMENTS!!!
I know I've been blessed with the greatest wife in the entire world who makes 99.9% of all of these things possible, but darn it, I'm taking all the credit I can for that 0.1%. What a great summer. I can't wait to finish strong!!

Ummm...if you call this your eyes getting "moist." What do you call it when it happens in front of 30 4th graders while reading Where the Red Fern Grows???

Nice call Kenny. It's ok J... Sean can't even finish that book. He has to have a student read the last chapter(s).

Look,I believe Ken tried to read it once, and STRUGGLED just like any human with a beating heart would.
