Those who know me well, know I'm pretty darn cheap frugal when it comes to certain things. So, when I decided that a corner of our living room needed a chair to hide those unsightly cable cords, I took matters into my own hands. I found this at PotteryBarn and was inspired. So, what's a girl to do??? Well, this girl scrounged up an old kitchen chair; bought some sandpaper, primer, and paint; then enlisted the help of a bossy helpful three-year-old; and got busy!

::Before (with the cheap help)::

::Sanded and Primed::

::After::

Overall, I'm pleased. I was too lazy to apply a second coat, so there are a few spots that look a bit more *ahem* antiqued than others, but they aren't too noticeable unless you're looking closely. And, if you're looking closely at my cheap project then chances are, you'll notice all the dust, rather than my painting mistakes.

Bonus: My little project makes an ideal "time-out" chair. Not that we'd ever need one of those in this house. Never. My little monkeys are always perfectly behaved at all times and never color on tables.

Or put silly hats on their baby sister.

Or play with their mommy's make-up.

Or unroll an entire roll of paper towels.

Never. We're raising perfect little people.

Yeah right!
