Addi is 3 today. *Sigh* Where does the time go? Really, I can't believe that three years have passed since our little princess entered this world 4 weeks early. It seems like yesterday.
In my head I had a really nice, sentimental post thought up to share with you about how much we love this little girl. But, alas, as soon as I go to type it out I realize that there is no possible way for me to put in to words the love that we have for her (& Elijah, of course). Seriously. It just isn't happening.
What I can tell you is that the love we feel for her is insane. Just crazy. It blows my mind everyday that I can love someone so much. I mean, don't get me wrong I have a LOT of love for a lot of people, but the difference is that I love them for a reason. Let me explain: My husband, for example. I could list for you all the reasons I love him (his good heart, kindness, gorgeous eyes, work ethic...and the list goes on); however, with my children there was no list when they were born. I just loved them. A ridiculous, I-can-stare-at-them-all-day kind of love and for no reason. Just because. Isn't that crazy?!? Really, it's the strangest thing. In fact, I remember after Addi was born saying to my mom and dad, "I didn't know you loved me this much." Not because I EVER questioned their love for me, but because I didn't know that kind of love existed.
Some of you are probably rolling your eyes right now, but those of you with kids, you know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, back to the birthday girl.
Like all parents we think she's the best thing since sliced bread. Smart, adorable, kind, and a good big sister. But, I want you to know a little more about our little girl.
I want you to know that she's a go-getter. She wakes up every morning and asks, "What we doing to-morning (combination of today and this morning), Mom?"
She loves Jesus. Ok, let's be honest, she still doesn't really "get it" (who does!?), but she sure is diligent. Never will a meal or bedtime pass without a prayer....a prayer that includes EVERYBODY.
I want you to know how much she loves her baby brother. He's the first thing she asks for in the morning and the last thing she prays for at night. Addi tells everyone about her baby brother. She is one proud big sister. Heck, even Minnie Mouse knows all about Eli (or "e-eye").
You should know that she has an incredible imagination. Addi spends her days playing with dolls, singing made-up songs, dancing, and "cooking" in her kitching.
And, the girl has dreams. If you asked her, Addi would say that she wants to "be a nurse, a mommy, and play with the big balls at Target" when she grows up.
Here are just a few of her favorites. Addi loves:
Shopping with Mommy ("just us girls, right, Mom?")
Watching the Cubs with Daddy.
Swimming at Papa and Jojo's.
Watching movies and Hawkwa and Mesha's.
Going to baseball games.
Playing with her best friend, Praze.
Cheese, pot pies, ice cream, and fruit.
Coloring, reading books, and wrestling with Daddy.
Of course, the list could go on, but for now that's Addi in a nutshell.
Happy birthday, baby girl. We love you!
