So, here it is....

I'll start with a story: J and I have been married 5 1/2 years. For two of those years I was pregnant on April fools day (in 2005 with Addi and in 2007 with Eli) and on the other three years I somehow managed to convince J that I was pregnant as the ultimate April fools joke. Yes, he bought it each.and.every.time. Funny, huh?

Well, as it turns out, this year the joke was on me. On April 3rd, two days after my annual April fools joke on my poor husband, I got this...

AND,

Remember this post where I mention that I missed my baby bump? It appears that God has a very sarcastic sense of humor.

Surprised? Us too. Really, I won't get into the details or logistics of why we were so very surprised, but let's just say, we fall in that "less than 2% category" they teach you about in middle school health class.

So...what does this mean? It means that we're very lucky. And it means that Addi & Eli will be big siblings. And it means that I just added another 3 years of diapers to my budget. It means our house is only going to get crazier. It means I'm exhaused, nauseous, already look like I'm 4 months pregnant. It means that I can't ride any of the fun rides at Disneyland this summer. And it also means that we will be getting one of these...

Well, something like it anyway. I can't say that I'm all that disappointed. I've secretly always wanted a minivan. My poor husband, though, all he can say is "minivan, mini-man." :-)

So, it's official, baby #3 is scheduled to arrive around December 4 (determined by early ultrasound...which also showed a little heartbeat. YAY!).

So, there you have it.

And, if you're still reading or your eyes are now back in your head, here's a brief update on what is going on around here. Pics to come later.

  • Both kiddos have strep.
  • Eli now how 4 teeth on top & two on the bottom. The nurse practioner at our peds office yesterday kind of acted like he was the only 8 1/2 month old to have that many teeth. We think it is cute.
  • Addison has the cutest, low, raspy voice now.
  • J started baseball yesterday & I am now, offically, a single parent.

That's all for now. I'll write more later when I'm feeling a little less green (& I don't mean environmentally friendly).

We were trying to brainstorm some ideas at the Voigt family lunch on Sunday while flipping through the channels and see the Cubs game. Anyways, enjoy your baby bump!! Alicia was induced today, so I am waiting to hear the news.
